Pandit Jeev Nath Jha 'Tanraj'

Pandit Jeev Nath Jha "Tanraj" was an Indian music teacher, musicologist and Hindustani classical singer. A disciple of classical singer Pandit Omkar Nath Thakur (Padma Shri) he became Honorary Director & Principal of Sangeet Bharati Academy and Music College, Sindri & Dhanbad. He was also Teacher In-Charge of Music & Arts Section, F.C.I. Sindri of three girls schools. Along with his achievements, he has also penned a book named Sangeet Tatva Darshika which has numerous rare self composed bandish and songs on different ragas. 
Pt. Jeev Nath Jha was born in a village in Bihar. He lost his father at an early age and was sent to Muzaffarpur with his relatives for further studies. Despite having immense struggles, he learnt Hindustani Classical Music from various gurus including Pandit Omkar Nath Thakur. He began learning in depth and soon started educating various music enthusiasts.
He was a lecturer in various prominent Music Colleges in India like Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Banaras Hindu University, National Internal College Lucknow, Sangeet Bharti Mahavidyapeeth, etc. 
His biggest achievement was believed to be his students. His students have represented his compositions at different levels in different parts of the world.
